Tel Aviv [Israel], November 17: Israel's internal security agency Shin Bet said two flares fell near Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's home on November 16, underscoring the seriousness of the incident.
The Shin Bet reported that the two flares fell in the yard outside Prime Minister Netanyahu's residence in Caesarea, near Tel Aviv. The Shin Bet said the Israeli leader was not at home at the time of the incident, AFP reported on November 16.
"An investigation has been launched. This is a serious act and a dangerous escalation," Israeli police and security services said in a statement.
Israeli President Isaac Herzog strongly condemned the fireworks thrown at Netanyahu 's home , adding that he had spoken with the head of the Israeli security agency (Shin Bet) Ronen Bar, stressing the need to urgently investigate and deal with those responsible. It is not yet known who was behind the fireworks.
Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir called the incident a "red line" and called for an end to any aggressive actions against Netanyahu and his wife. "Today it's flares and tomorrow it could be live ammunition," Ben Gvir was quoted as saying by The Times of Israel.
A month ago, Netanyahu's residence in Caesarea was also attacked by a drone, an event that Hezbollah later claimed responsibility for. The Israeli Prime Minister at the time accused the UAV attack of being an assassination attempt on him and his wife
